Alexander Aleksandrovich Alyabyev wrote seven operas, twenty musical comedies, more than 200 romances, and many other pieces. His most famous work is The Nightingale, written in 1825, and is a romance based on a poem written by Anton Delvig. This work was originally written for Cello and Piano in the key of E minor.
